01Why this policy exists
VideoGen is used by creators, marketers, students, and businesses around the world. To keep the platform useful and safe, we ask everyone to follow this Acceptable Use Policy alongside our Terms & Conditions. The rules below apply to anything you generate, upload, share, or do with the Service.
02Content you must not generate
Do not use VideoGen — or attempt to use VideoGen — to create, distribute, or store content that is:
- Sexual content involving minors, or any imagery that sexualises a person who appears under 18. This is prohibited without exception, including stylised, animated, or “synthetic” depictions.
- Non-consensual sexual content of real or identifiable people, including nudification, intimate deepfakes, and revenge imagery.
- Targeted harassment, threats, doxxing, or content that incites violence against an individual or a protected group.
- Hate speech that promotes discrimination, dehumanisation, or violence on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or similar characteristics.
- Graphic real-world violence, gore, or self-harm intended to shock, glorify, or instruct.
- Election or public-health misinformation designed to mislead voters or interfere with healthcare guidance.
- Deceptive deepfakes of real people — politicians, executives, celebrities, or private individuals — without their clear consent, especially in contexts that fabricate quotes, endorsements, or events.
- Content that infringes copyright, trademark, publicity rights, or trade secrets owned by someone else.
- Anything illegal in your country or in the country where the content is hosted.
03Activity you must not engage in
- Bypassing or attempting to bypass safety filters, watermarks, or rate limits.
- Reverse-engineering the platform, its prompts, or its weights, except to the extent local law expressly permits.
- Scraping, bulk-downloading, or mirroring outputs at a scale beyond normal personal or business use.
- Running unauthorised automated tools, bots, or headless browsers against the Service.
- Creating multiple accounts to harvest free credits, re-trigger trial offers, or evade enforcement actions.
- Using the Service to attack third-party systems — for example, generating phishing pages, malware artwork, or credential stuffing dictionaries.
- Reselling raw access to VideoGen models without our written agreement.
04Working with real people
Many of the most fun outputs involve real people — friends, colleagues, public figures. When you do this:
- Have permission from the person depicted, especially for face-swap, voice-clone, or “as if they said” scenarios.
- Don’t put real people in sexual, defamatory, or violent contexts.
- If you publish, label clearly that the content is AI-generated. Many social platforms already require this.
05What happens when someone breaks the rules
We take enforcement seriously and try to be proportionate. Common consequences include:
- Soft warning — a notice in product, plus a brief feature throttle, for first-time minor incidents.
- Temporary restriction — for repeated violations or moderate severity, we may pause specific features (e.g. face-swap) or suspend the account for a set period.
- Permanent ban — for severe violations, repeated offences, or anything that puts users at risk. Bans extend to associated accounts and devices.
- Legal action — for content involving minors, fraud, or large-scale infrastructure abuse, we will preserve evidence and refer to law-enforcement authorities where required by law.
06Reporting and appeals
If you see content or behaviour on VideoGen that breaks these rules, email videogenhelp@gmail.com with as much detail as you can share — links, screenshots, and timestamps. We treat reports confidentially.
If you believe an enforcement decision against your account was a mistake, reply to the email we sent and explain why. A different reviewer will look at the case and respond within 7 business days.
07How we monitor
We use a combination of automated classifiers and human review. We do not read every prompt, but we can investigate when an automated signal is triggered, when a user reports content, or when authorities lawfully require us to. Our review processes are tuned to minimise the personal data accessed during an investigation.
08Changes to this policy
We update this policy as the AI landscape evolves. Material changes will be announced in product or by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
09Final word
Most of our users will never need to read this page in detail — common sense and a respect for other people get you through 99% of situations. When you are unsure, ask yourself whether you would be comfortable showing the result to the person it depicts. If the answer is no, don’t generate it on VideoGen.
