01Who we are
VideoGen (“VideoGen”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is an AI video and image creation platform operated by Nabla Technology Co., Ltd. (纳布拉科技有限公司), with offices at Room 3-1-223, 2nd Floor, No. 148-12 Shixiao Road, Lianfang Subdistrict, Shapingba District, Chongqing, China. We act as the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.
If you have a question that this policy does not answer, you can reach us at videogenhelp@gmail.com.
02Scope of this policy
This policy applies to the VideoGen website, the in-browser creator app, and any account, billing, or support interaction we have with you. It does not cover third-party services we link to (for example, social-media platforms or payment processors) — those services have their own privacy notices.
03Information we collect
Information you provide directly
- Account details — email address, display name, password (stored as a one-way hash), and the authentication identifier from any social login you choose.
- Billing details — the plan or credit pack you purchase and a transaction reference. Card numbers are entered on the payment processor’s secure form and never reach our servers.
- Content you upload — text prompts, reference images, audio, and any video clips you upload to drive a generation.
- Support correspondence — the messages, attachments, and contact details you share when you email us.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — the features you open, the models you select, generation parameters, and timestamps. This helps us improve the product and diagnose errors.
- Device data — browser type, operating system, screen size, and a coarse IP-derived region.
- Cookies and storage — see our cookies section for the breakdown.
04How we use your information
- To run the generation workflow you requested and deliver the resulting media to your account.
- To authenticate you and keep your sessions secure.
- To process payments, allocate credits, and prevent fraudulent or abusive use.
- To provide customer support and respond to your questions.
- To debug, monitor reliability, and improve model quality at an aggregate level.
- To send service announcements (for example, planned downtime or major changes to your plan). Marketing emails are sent only with your opt-in.
- To comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests from authorities.
05Legal bases for processing
Where the EU/UK GDPR or similar regimes apply, we rely on one of the following bases for each processing activity:
- Contract — to deliver the service you signed up for.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the service safe, debug issues, and improve features in ways you would reasonably expect.
- Consent — for non-essential cookies, marketing emails, and any optional research participation.
- Legal obligation — to retain financial records and respond to lawful enforcement requests.
06When we share information
We share personal information only with carefully selected third parties, and only for the purposes listed below.
- Cloud infrastructure — for hosting, storage, and content delivery.
- Model providers — when you select a third-party AI model, your prompt and any reference media are forwarded to that model’s provider so it can return a result. We send only what is needed for the generation.
- Payment processors — to charge your card, issue receipts, and handle refunds.
- Analytics providers — for aggregate usage measurement; identifiers are pseudonymised wherever possible.
- Support tooling — to track and reply to your tickets.
- Authorities — when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public.
We may also share aggregated, de-identified statistics that cannot be used to identify any individual.
07Cookies and similar tech
We use cookies, local storage, and pixel tags to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure performance, and detect abuse. You can control non-essential cookies from the in-page banner or your browser settings.
08How long we keep data
- Account data — for as long as your account is active, plus up to 24 months after closure for fraud-prevention and legal-compliance reasons.
- Generated content — stored in your private workspace until you delete it. Trashed items are permanently removed within 30 days.
- Billing records — retained for at least the period required by tax and accounting law in our jurisdiction.
- Support correspondence — kept for up to 24 months unless we are obliged to retain it longer.
- Server logs — typically rotated within 90 days.
09Security measures
We protect personal data with industry-standard controls, including TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, role-based access control, principle-of-least-privilege for engineers, audit logging, and regular third-party security reviews. No system is perfectly secure, so we strongly recommend you also use a unique password and enable two-factor authentication where available.
10Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have one or more of the following rights:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct data that is inaccurate or out of date.
- Delete your account and the associated personal data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior lawful processing.
- Receive a portable copy of data you provided to us.
- Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email videogenhelp@gmail.com from the address on file. We respond within 30 days; complex requests may take longer and we will let you know if so.
11Children’s privacy
VideoGen is not designed for users under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
12International transfers
Our team and infrastructure are global. When personal data leaves the country where it was collected, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent transfer mechanisms approved by the relevant authority.
13Changes to this policy
We update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top and, where appropriate, send a notice through the product or by email. Continued use of VideoGen after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
